Obituary of Leo Francis Walker
Leo Francis Walker
88, of Bridgewater, formerly of Halifax, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Dartmouth, he was the only child of Joseph Albert and Mary Ellen (Pettipas) Walker. Leo attended Saint Mary's College (now Saint Mary's University) and was in the class of 1943. He was a veteran of the Second World War and served his country in the army in Halifax. His career centered on his work from 1946 to 1992 in the Parts Department of the A. E. Fowles car dealership in Halifax, later called MacLellan Mercury. Leo was a devoted family man and is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Grace (Morris) and his faithful and caring only child, Jon. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where there will be no visitation by family request. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2009 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 123 Pleasant Street, Bridgewater with Father J. B. (Joe) Christensen officiating, assisted by Rev. Patrick Morris. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only.
