Obituary of Frank Milston McGill

Frank Milston McGill 85 of Newcombville passed away Sunday 26 June 2011 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Inglisville, Annapolis County, he was the son of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Whitman) McGill. He was a faithful member of the Bridgewater United Baptist Church serving as Sunday school teacher and superintended in former years. He also served on many boards and committees. He was a graduate of the former Normal Collage and Acadia University. He taught school for several years before becoming involved in school administration. Later he became Inspector of schools for Lunenburg County. He was a president of the former Nova Scotia School Inspectors Association and President of the former Nova Scotia Music Festival Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid reader and travelled extensively visiting many countries with his wife. He is survived by his son Richard (Elizabeth); four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Anita; a daughter in infancy; son David; sisters Alma, Gladys and Marjorie; brothers Gordon, Stanley, Edward, Harold, Ewart and Ralph. There will be no visitation by request. Memorial service will be held 2 P.M., Thursday June 30 in the Bridgewater United Baptist Church, Rev. Eric Campbell officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
