Obituary of Hilda Christenia Neily

Hilda Christenia Neily 92 of Springfield, Annapolis County, passed away on Saturday 14 May, 2011 in the QE 2 Health Science Centre, Halifax. Born in Lake Pleasant, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Meda (Tufts) Wile. In her early life she worked as a housekeeper in private homes and later as the sole cook in a logging camp. As a member of the New Horizons Seniors Club she particularly enjoyed taking part in the variety shows. She was a member of the Springfield United Baptist Church, participating in the choir and Womens’ Missionary Society. She showed great love and concern for her family. She also loved being in her home, where she had her unique way of decorating; and spent many hours outside in her flower gardens. Hilda is survived by her daughters Faye (John) Parker, Fall River; Dianne (Herbert) Slauenwhite, Wentzell Lake; Deborah (Roger) Beaupre, Dartmouth; son Brian (Wanda) Neily, PortersLake; sisters Lily Russell, New Germany; Ermie Coolen, Windsor; Emily Wile, Aylesford; Laverne Clayton, Hantsport; Shirley (Ralph) MacDonald, Mt. Denson; brother Berlyn (Joanne) Wile, Gaspereau; grandchildren Tanya (Blake) Johnson; Shane (Shawna) Slauenwhite; Angelique Beaupre; Melanie (Jeffrey) Langille; Mark Neily; Brooke Neily; great grandchildren Brendan, Jack and Cale along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and sister Florence Silver. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 pm, Tuesday 17 May in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 highway 10, New Germany. Funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday 18 May in the Springfield United Baptist Church, Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
