Obituary of Edythe Hirtle

Edythe Harriet Hirtle Of Bridgewater, passed away Tuesday July 23, 2002. She was born October 3, 1909 in Leitches Creek, CB, eldest child of Lt.-Col Murdoch and Ruby (Johnston) MacKeigan. A graduate of Acadia University (1933), she became head of dietetics at the Dawson Memorial Hospital in Bridgewater and retained a lifelong interest in hospital affairs. She was a charter president of the Bridgewater Kinette Club. She leaves to mourn, her husband of 61 years, John F. Hirtle, Bridgewater; her daughter Sheila and son-in-law Marq de Villiers, Lunenburg; her son Kenneth and daughter-in-law Linda Hirtle, St John NB; and her 2 grandsons Austin Hirtle, Toronto and Jamie Hirtle, St John. The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held 11an Saturday in the Bridgewater United Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Tom Harvey officiating. Family flowers only.
