Obituary of Melba Pauline Sarty

SARTY, Melba Pauline - Age 94, of Bridgewater. Passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Rosedale Home For Special Care, New Germany. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Althea Mosher, of Parkdale. Melba and her husband, Glenn Sarty, were small business operators providing employment for many people in the Bridgewater area, for many years.

Besides her parents, Melba was predeceased by her husband, Glenn; her sisters, Edna Grimm (Ronald), and Iris Rafuse; her brothers, Harry Mosher (Violet and Mim), and Bill Mosher (Ruby); as well as her son-in-law, Allan Veinot. Left to mourn are her daughters, Linda Powell (Angus), of Ottawa, Joanne Veinot, of Maplewood; foster son, Karl Stevens (Ann), of New Glasgow, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, New Germany, on Tuesday, July 18, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. A memorial service for Melba will be held on Thursday, July 20, at 2:00 p.m., in Emmanuel Baptist Church, Parkdale. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, Bridgewater Baptist Church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, and Rosedale Home For Special Care.
