Our deepest condolences to Lloyd’s family. We grieve with you.We just got word of Lloyd’s passing a week ago. I’d been a patient for a few days in Kentville Regional Hospital after breaking my ankle on Feb 5th.
I first met Lloyd in 1995 when I was selling at the Mahone Bay flea market. He & good friend Mack were selling beside me. We got chatting & have been friends ever since.
Actually not long before that I dressed in vintage clothing & attended an anniversary celebration at Cornwall Baptist church & at the market Lloyd commented that he’d seen me at their celebration. My husband & I always made it a point to go to Lloyd & Mack’s booth at the Mahone Bay Legion as our first stop during the Scarecrow Festival each year. Both Lloyd’s Karen & Mack’s Karen were with the guys & we’d all have a chat. Our son went to Sunday School at the Cornwall Baptist Church & when he was 3 yrs old I bought a little white cotton vintage shorts set from Lloyd & we had a professional photographer come to our home to take photos of him in the outfit. Also I bought a little vintage tin car from Lloyd that to this day sits on our son’s bedroom window sill.
One day in 2012 as I was walking out of the South Shore Hospital feeling rather down as I’d been dealing with breast cancer Lloyd & Karen drove up to the front entrance just as I walked out the door & there I was with both of their hands in mine. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I/we will cherish our many memories
Rest in peace Lloyd. You are finally reunited with your beloved Karen.

I join many others in offering my deepest sympathy for Lloyd's passing. Although it is of little consolation at this sad time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that in his passing you can celebrate the end of a long and productive life. A life that he enjoyed and shared with everyone he knew. I am deeply saddened that I only got to meet him once. Nevertheless, I could see why he was special to so many from that one encounter.
I believe that the measure of a life well-lived is not in how much money one has or what possessions one may have accumulated, but rather through the lives one touches and the sorrow one leaves behind. If the outpouring of sympathy on this loss is any indication, and it most certainly is, you can proudly and confidently say that he indeed had a life well-lived.
To his family, may you find peace and comfort in knowing that the loss of your father and grandfather is felt by all who knew and loved him.

Lori, Lesley, Becky and families:
Please accept our condolences for the passing of Lloyd. My memories of your Dad will always be filled with the times at Lake Mush-a-Mush, and then later in life, Dad and Lloyd operating their own post retirement antique business in the Halifax/Mahone Bay area. Whether it was making Mush-mush burgers, asking Erin to talk, or later seeing Lloyd and Dad all smiles talking to people at a Sunday Mahone Bay flea market, I always have such fond memories of Lloyd.
When Mom was sick with her lung cancer, I fondly remember your Mom and Dad coming in to visit her in the hospital and enjoying a talk with Lloyd in the local hospital coffee shop.
Please do try and think of the good times you had over the years with your Dad to help you work through the grief and take care of yourselves and your families during this difficult time.
Thanks
Bruce MacDonald and family

To Lori, Leslie and Becky,
Debbie and I send our love and sympathy to you and your families as you grieve the loss of your Dad. We have wonderful memories of Lloyd and Karen going back to the 70s when we connected at Mush-a-mush, and even earlier with Karen and her extended family. Lloyd's kindness, hospitality, wisdom and leadership were at the heart of our sense of community at the Lake. His faith was a quiet inspiration to all who knew him. How he and you Mum loved you girls! May God's peace surround you always! - John and Debbie Boyd

Lori,Leslie and Becky I can’t express the sadness that I feel for you all and your families. The many wonderful memories we had and have with our families, I will always cherish. The picture I posted was when mom was in the hospital and bless your parents they would come visit her, your mom was in with us and mom, the next thing we knew our dad was pushing your dad into the room, both of them with glee in their eyes. We all laughed. Both your parents will be sadly missed!!! The only comfort I have with your Dads passing is that he is with your Mom, they truly had a beautiful love story. Hugs, Donna Huestis

Words just can't describe how special both Lloyd and Karen were to both of us. From the moment I, Carolea, met them, I felt seen, heard and loved. That is a rare gift indeed. There was something about Lloyd's gentle and kind manner, that easy smile and twinkle in his eye that reminded me, Carolea, so much of my dear grandfather. He will be so very missed. We are so very sorry for your loss. Upholding you all in prayer.

Oh wow. So saddened to see the passing of such a wonderful person. Lloyd, I am so happy that I got to know both you and your wonderful Karen through the restaurant in Blockhouse and then through events in our wonderful Middle Cornwall. You always had that wonderful and kind smile no matter what was going on. You will now be reunited with your best friend and soul mate. May you all keep the wonderful memories of all your times together in your hearts and he will never be far away. Rest easy Mr. Storr.
