Obituary of Vernon Douglas Cornish
CORNISH, Vernon Douglas, 88, of Hebbville, passed away peacefully July 23, 2024. Born in O’Leary, PEI, he was the son of the late Arthur & Elva Cornish.
Vernon is survived by his children, Reagh (Nirmira) Cornish (Burlington, ON); David (Janice) Cornish (Waverley, NS); Sharon (Kelly) Dunn (Belnan, NS); stepson, Christopher (Melissa) Berry (Lahave, NS); stepdaughter, Melanie Smith (New Orleans); sisters, Ellen Cameron, Fairley (Eric) Phillips; brother, Roy (Anna) Cornish (PEI); grandchildren, Kevin Cornish (Calgary, AB); Stephanie Cornish (Waverley, NS); Justin (Erin) Dunn (Enfield, NS); Candice (Cory) Stone, (Waverley, NS); Fahmida Thawer, (San Francisco, CA); step grandson, Logan Berry (Lahave,NS); sister-in-law, Beverley Cornish; lots of nieces & nephews and great grandchildren.
Vernon was predeceased by his wife Nancy (Pixie) Cornish of 48 years, brother, Kenneth Cornish, and brother-in-law, Fred Cameron
He enjoyed his career in the automotive and insurance industries.
Anyone that knew Vernon Cornish knew his love of singing and playing guitar to blue grass music.
There will be no service by request. Donations in Vernon's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
