I didn’t have a lot of conversations with Charlie over the years. He couldn’t understand my strong New Zealand accent. Or so he reckoned! My fondest memory of Charlie is when I graduated from university. He wrote me a lovely email congratulating me and saying it was now my time to ‘take on the world’. I’ll always remember those words.
