Obituary of Charles Terrance Patrick Creighton
CREIGHTON, Charles Terrance Patrick “Buddy” – Age 88, Pleasantville, Lunenburg Co., passed away at home with his loving wife by his side on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Born June 20, 1936, in Halifax, he was the half brother of Jack (deceased), a son of the late John Henry and Adah Sophia (Knickle) Creighton.
Charles, or Buddy as many knew him, graduated from Kings College, Windsor and began working with the Merchant ships before going to the Yukon as a miner. He then worked in British Columbia on heavy construction projects using explosives. This is where he met his wife, Moira. He loved ocean sailing and spent 5 years at sea with his family, surviving the boat sinking off South Africa, before settling in New Zealand. As they entered retirement, they returned to Nova Scotia and made their home in Pleasantville.
Surviving is his wife, Moira Catherine (Ford) Creighton; sons, John (Rachael), Andrew (Jill), all of New Zealand; Robert (Sharmaranne), Alberta; grandchildren, Johnny, Violet, Patrick, Oliver, Natalie, Abigail, Kane, Dylan, Zealand and Tucker.
After a full life, may he find peace. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service held at this time. No flowers please, donations may be made to the Parkinsons Society of Nova Scotia, South Shore Palliative Care Society or a charity of choice.
